Marton Methodist Church celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2014. Soon after that it closed for Sunday worship, but has since continued as a Christian Community Hub, offering a varied outreach. We are part of Gainsborough Methodist Church and share their Mission Statement: To Live by FAITH, be known by LOVE, & to be a voice of HOPE, With JESUS at the centre of our lives. Our minister is Rev. Paul Braisdell.
An increasingly popular Coffee Morning and Book Swap is held on the third Saturday of the month, 10.00 until 12.00. a chance for a social 'catch up' and opportunity to make friends in the village area, A Book Swap stall is always available giving folk the chance to circulate volumes, and recommend a Good Read! Coffee, teas and cake are served, of course.
AYC – Adult Youth Club meets every Thursday from 2.00 until 3.30, gathering people from the village to meet with friends and play a variety of social games. A lot of fun and a lot of chat!
Church For All celebrates Easter, Harvest, Christmas and other Christian festivals and is an alternate relaxed style of 'doing church', drawing those for whom traditional church is unhelpful. This has attracted AYC members and other people from the village, including families and children. The premises are hired by the Karate Club.
There is a small modern kitchen with facilities to cater for gatherings. The heating is effective. There are tables and chairs in very good condition. There is also projection equipment.
